Birthday Blizzard

Dear Soul Sister,

As I sit down to write this Lori Letter, my heart feels full as I reflect on a few lessons I am having to retake the updated versions of. Release, Acceptance, and Gratitude. These aren’t just words on a vision board; they’re powerful tools for navigating life’s twists and turns. And let me tell you, January, for me, has already been full of lessons in living these themes.

Let me paint you a picture: It’s the beginning of an immobilizing winter storm. The kind of storm where the snow is falling faster than you can shovel, and the roads are completely impassable. That’s when my heat decided to stop working. As someone who likes to keep things in order, my first reaction was frustration and even a little panic. But then, something shifted.

I reached out to family nearby, and they welcomed us into their warm home without hesitation. As I watched my children experience the wonder of active, lasting snow; snowmen, snow angels, the whole snowy dream; I felt a profound wave of gratitude. Gratitude for the warmth of family, the joy of new experiences, and the reminder that sometimes, releasing control and accepting help is exactly what we need.

This month has taught me that these three themes are beautifully interconnected. Releasing doesn’t mean giving up; it means making space. Acceptance isn’t about settling; it’s about acknowledging what is. And gratitude? Gratitude is the bridge that connects those two, helping us find peace and perspective even in the middle of a storm.

Here’s how I’ve been practicing these themes this month:

  • Releasing the need to control everything and trusting that the universe (and loved ones) will provide support.

  • Accepting that life doesn’t always go according to plan, but that doesn’t mean it’s not unfolding perfectly.

  • Feeling gratitude for the lessons, the warmth of family, and the joy of creating new memories with my children.

Soooo, Happy Birthday to me!!! January is also my birthday month, a time when I’m naturally drawn to reflect on the lessons of the past year. If there’s one thing this month’s chaos has already reaffirmed for me, it’s this: growth isn’t always comfortable, but it’s always worth it.

Where in your life can you release what no longer serves you, accept what is, and find gratitude in the journey?

As I look ahead, I’m filled with excitement for what’s to come; especially when it comes to this community and the work we’re doing together. I’ve been working behind the scenes on some incredible new directions for my business. While I can’t share all the details just yet, I can tell you this: these changes are rooted in everything we’ve been exploring together; connection, empowerment, and alignment with your highest self. Stay tuned, because big things are on the horizon.

This month, I invite you to join me in practicing release, acceptance, and gratitude. Take some time to reflect on these questions:

  • What do I need to release to make space for what I truly want?

  • How can I accept what is, without judgment or resistance?

  • What am I grateful for right now, in this moment?

Write down your answers, or better yet, share them with someone you trust (yes, you can DM me!!!). Let’s hold each other accountable for stepping into this year with open hearts and minds.

January may have started with a storm, but it’s reminded me of the power of resilience, connection, and joy. You have EVERYTHING you need to release what no longer serves you, embrace the beauty of the present moment, and walk boldly into what’s next. I believe in you. I support you. I got you.

Here’s to a month of letting go, leaning in, and celebrating the magic of what’s to come…together.

With peace & SO much love,
Coach Lori
